A PRESS CONFERENCE lead by YB Dato Chor Chee Hueng the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security was held on 15th July 2008 at the Parlimen to announce the SAHOCA TREASURE HUNT 2008. The hunt will be held on 24th July 2008 flag off will be at One Utama at around 7.30am.

THE 100 YEAR ANNIVERSARY HUNT

" We dont often celebrate 100 years Anniversary unless of cause you live more then 200 years old " quipped Tun Dr Mahathir confirming his attendance to attend the 100th Anniversary KSAH. He rescheduled his trip overseas to accomodate to this event "

WHAT IS A TREASURE HUNT?
Treasure Hunt will be a great way to develop fellowships, discover new places, is mind challenging and time management required and having fun all the way.
During the dinner or high-tea, there will be an answer presentation, which will be the highlight of the event.

There will be a LCD presentation including candid shots of the entire event, answer justification and prize presentation and a CD movie of the event.

What happens during a Treasure Hunt?

Every team would be given hunt routes called ‘tulips’ and sets of road questions and treasure questions before flag off.

The participants are requested to solve the puzzles where the answers will be based on permanent signboard along the marked locations in the tulips.

Sometimes, we can also create fun and interesting activities along the way to add on to the challenge.

The participants also need to look for treasure items (in form of questions) and bring back the requested items.

How many participants in one car?
There should be a minimum of two (2) participants (Driver and Navigator) and a maximum of 4 participants in one participating car.

The SAHOCA Treasure Hunt 2008 with the theme “ Jom Sambut 100 Tahun Kolej” was initiated by SAHOCA Selangor/ Kuala Lumpur to motivate ex-collegians in the Klang Valley to make a journey to Alor Setar and partake in the festivities organized in conjunction with the 100 years Kolej celebration and events.

A professional event organizing company with over 10 years experience in organizing treasure hunts events for corporate and club functions was appointed by the SAHOCA committee. The event will be professionally organized and sanctioned by the Automobile Association of Malaysia (AAM) in full compliance with all authorities’ requirements including public liability insurances.

The starting point is the Car Park B, One Utama Shopping Kompleks, Petaling Jaya and he finishing pint is the Kolej School Hall, in Alor Setar.

The flag off will be at 7.45am on the 24th July 2008 and the closing time of arrival is at 5.00pm at Kolej Hall, Alor Setar.

“JOM SAMBUT 100 TAHUN KOLEJ”.

Sultan Abdul Hamid Old Collegian Association, (SAHOCA) is under the patronage of His Highness KDYMM Tuanku Sultan Kedah Darul Aman The College has produced many famous and outstanding individuals, among them are HRH The Sultan of Kedah, The Regent of Kedah, the late Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj (the 1st. Prime Minister of Malaysia) & Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad (the 4th. Prime Minister of Malaysia).

This treasure hunt will gather many prominent personalities and corporate figures in Klang Valley who are ex-collegians of Sultan Abdul Hamid College to convoy from KL to Alor Setar. The Treasure Hunt will present an opportunity for a giant show of camaraderie and affection for the college.

This Motor Treasure Hunt is expected to attract the interest of 300 to 400 participants in 50 to 100 cars. The date of the event is on the 24th July 2008. The route of the event from One Utama , Petaling Jaya and ending at the Kolej School Hall in Alor Setar will take participants through various points of interest in Kedah and Alor Setar.

In consideration to above we reserve great honor in inviting your esteemed organization to be apart of this Treasure Hunt event.
